In today's news, I just wanted to say how much I loved watching Pride and Prejudice. It's really not a book I feel I could go through easily so I am ecstatic that I could just watch a movie for three hours. Tonight is another movie night, but i don't know what we will be watching (cable is often limited).

It is a fantastic, lazy Sunday. Perfect for nothing else but being completely and utterly lazy. Today's menu was grilled cheese, chips and salsa, and Scooby Snacks. Yum. I have not felt motivated enough to draw yet,  but I need to get a portrait done today and I think it is going to be Spencer Smith. That will make fifteen beautiful young men in my quest for better portrait skills. I have gone from taking ten minutes to three hours on a portrait.  My patience has improved, but I still would like to do steer away from "drawing". The goal is sketching.

In working with my aunt in the studio yesterday. I made four rings. Three of them are stackable rings. One of the stackable rings is set with mother of pearl and the other two are ornate bands. The last ring is pebble ring. The pebble was set and placed on a band. (Ironically, the pebble was from a handful of small rocks obtained from Lowe's... hurray from cheap materials! My aunt and I are saying that the pebble is from Australia. It's my ring, so I can make up whatever story I want to).

While in the studio and during the watching of Pride and Prejudice, I was struck by two epiphanies... 1) That I leave for Arizona soon and 2) that I would like to work with fresco. The two are unrelated, but still. I needed to write them down before I forgot.

I guess back to drawing. My mother would like me to apply for a summer job, but I will need to see how everything works out. I'd rather just draw the summer away. But then again, I could really use the money. Decisions, decisions.

Watch out America! So.... I got my license. It has taken too many trips to the DMV in more than one state. But, finally, I can drive on the roads like normal people.

I freaked out during the written test. The testing machine showed how much I had wrong and I felt like I was on a game show. I started looking around hoping a poster with all the answers would be hanging around. Barely passed that.

Then I had to do the road test. We got in the car, drove down an old back road for five minutes, stopped to listen to cicadas, did a two point turn, reversed about 100 more feet and then drove back. That was it. Anti-climatic. After previous experience with the DMV, I was prepared to be dodging land mines and stuff. I feel seriously let down, but I am still glad it was just a cakewalk.

I have been sketching (in charcoal) since break began. The charcoal gets all over everything.  I have made it my goal for the summer to draw at least one face a day and, so far, I have chosen several good lookin' and well-known guys (like the heavenly Gerard Way) as my subjects. I have done female faces using grids, but I am trying to wean myself off of that and use only the nature of the face. I still have much to learn about portraiture, but practice will make close to perfect.

I spent the last week at the beach. It was an interesting experience with interesting people, who woke up at interesting times, and said very interesting things. Interesting is such a good substitute word. I recovered from the event by purchasing two Fall Out Boy posters and an MCR shirt. Shopping is highly therapeutic. I am also sleeping in tomorrow, so that should help me with any leftover stress.

Saturday is studio day. All day silversmithiness. I hope to make a pendant. My aunt helps me with everything and lets me dig through all her little stones and pieces of silver. I am so excited! Maybe I'll post a picture (granted I figure out how to do that.)

Wow, it's amazing how much I can write! Well, back to sketching, reading, and maybe some televised distraction.

Aloha!

Quote of the Day: "You don't understand. When you are bored, you make a LiveJournal post."

So here I am, its 0:58... in the morning I guess. Soooo... I need to brag about random, hot strangers. Let's seeee.... well, there was this guy (let's call him Goodlookin')... where was I... oh yeah, so Goodlookin' passed us in the night. He was singing softly too! And he was goodlooking (did I mention that?) Either way, he is currently on the Unknown Goodlookin' Guy List.

Oh yeah, so, speaking about guys... Panic at the Disco Concert, this Saturday, all day. It is really more like an Awesome People Convention because that's exactly who is going to be there. It's a long drive. Some people say that the journey somewhere is the most enlightening part, but I will be asleep for most of it. I don't have to drive because 1) I don't have my license and 2) I don't have a car and 3) nobody trusts me enough to transport them anywhere while temporarily contained in a vehicle. Sad, I know. One day perhaps. Hopefully sooner than later... my permit expires in a few months and I would hate to renew it for the fourth time. Sad, I know.

UPDATE on Epic Headache: Gone! But I still feel exhausted. Glad I finished most of my work ahead of time. I don't think I can miss anymore class.

Today is Day 7 of my epic headache. Granted that I am not in that much pain at the moment, I am still pretty out of it. Everything is a little fuzzy, and my head is still throbbing. I have taken a fair share of ibuprofen, but it upsets my stomach and I avoid taking it at all costs. Either way, I am trying to not let anything get to me and continue living my life.

I do not feel like studying at the moment so that is why I made this post. (I actually thought about making a Facebook just to remain occupied! Oh, the agony!) I have three hours left until Krispy Kreme. Confession... I actually despise "glaze"... among other things (like mini golf and pool filters).

UPDATE on the ongoing and heated battle between The Universe and Awesome Kids: The Universe took several points this morning with an early morning migraine. Awesome Kids attempted to counter with four more hours of sleep, three pieces of jelly toast, two ibuprofen, and a partridge in a pear tree. But by the time work started, the migraine had returned. Awesome Kids closed the gap by having several goodlookin' film students borrow equipment. Forecast shows that by Saturday, Panic at the Disco will aid the Awesome Kids in a possibly debilitating defeat of The Universe.

Well to you, fellow Awesome Kid out there that is reading this, here's to you!
